Mr. Danch responded that the plans haven't been fully designed but the idea is to have garages <br />on the backside of the units. All of the homes will have either detached garages fed from the <br />alleys or an attached garage for the townhome units. <br />Councilmember Dr. David Varner asked who will be responsible for taking care of and plowing <br />the alleys. <br />Mr. Danch responded that it will be an association. We are not looking to the City to be <br />responsible for the alleys. <br />Councilmember Dr. David Varner stated it is his opinion that the details of that need to be <br />hashed out before everything is finalized. <br />Committee Chair Davis asked if that needs to be figured out before we vote tonight. <br />Mr. Magliozzi responded that the petitioner will eventually have to subdivide this property and <br />whenever a new street or alley is established either a subdivision plan or a separate deed of <br />dedication needs to be processed and neither have been given to the Area Plan Commission yet. <br />That would be the appropriate time to discuss the alley situation. <br />Mr. Danch stated it is the intention of the petitioner for there to be an easement that will be <br />maintained privately. <br />Councilmember Scott stated the City is transitioning to front curb pickup for trash and that may <br />be an obstacle down the road with the alleys. <br />Mr. Danch responded that we are intending to do the trash pickup privately so it shouldn't be an <br />issue. <br />Committeemember Jo M. Broden asked if the petitioner could have some figures on the changes <br />in density from the original plan for the full Council meeting this evening <br />Mr. Danch said that was fine and he would have the numbers for the Council. <br />No one from the public spoke either in favor of or in opposition to the bill. <br />Committeemember Gavin Ferlic made a motion to send Bill 31 -16 to the full Council with a <br />favorable recommendation. Committeemember John Voorde seconded the motion which carried <br />by a voice vote of four (4) ayes. <br />There being no further business before the Committee, Committee Chair Oliver Davis adjourned <br />11 <br />
