~~~-~Z~ <br />SOUTy B <br />Community & Economic Development ~~,;_ <br />,;~~ <br />1865 _-- <br />1200 County-City Building, 227 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana 46601-1830 Phone 574/235-9371 Fax 574/235-9021 <br />To: Redevelopment Commission ,~~- <br />From: Bill Schalliol, Economic Development Planner <br />Subject: Professional Services -Phase II ESA <br />Main & Western Disposition Parcel <br />Date: September 29, 2009 <br />As part of the due diligence for preparing the Main & Western Disposition Parcel for <br />disposition, a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) was performed on the parcel. <br />As part of the historical documentation section of the report, it was discovered that for a <br />period of time a Shell Station was located on the SE corner of the site on what is now a <br />paved area being used for parking. The records are inconclusive if the gas station tanks <br />were ever removed and so a Phase II ESA was recommended to verify tank removal. <br />Attached to this report is a proposal from Phifer Environmental Services to perform a limited <br />Phase II report on the site specific to site assessment for the corner parcel. The proposal <br />amount is for Seven Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($7,275.00) and staff <br />requests favorable approval of this request. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference! <br />
