Motion carried* <br />COMMUNICATIONG <br />TO THE MAYOR AND THE COMMON.COUXCIL OF THE CITY*OF SOUTH BEND: <br />We, the undersigned, officers of the Western Avenue Improvement Association, of South <br />Bend, Indiana, do hereby respectfully urge upon you to accelerate activities with reference <br />to the elevation project on Western Avenue and-use every means within the power and purview of <br />your honorable body to-force the railroads to carry through the plan as agreed upon* <br />The owners of property along and near Western Avenue have already been heavily damaged <br />by the postponements and delays and can neither rent nor sell their properties because of the <br />indefiniteness surrounding the project <br />It is the sense of thts Association that an excellent and effective first step on the <br />part of the City of South Bend would-be strict enforcement of Section 272., Ordinance No' 966, <br />adopted May 13,18,95, regulating the_speed of trains withim the limits-of the City to not more <br />than eight miles per hour* Respectfully, submitted.- Western Avenue Improvement Assm' <br />Anthony S.
