RESOLUTION NO. 184 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />COMMUNITY INVESTMENT TO APPROVE AND EXECUTE PLATS AND <br />CONDUCT OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE ACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />(2013 -2) <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Authority (the "Authority ") has been <br />created pursuant to Ind. Code § 36-7 -14.5 (the "Act') as a separate body, corporate and politic, <br />and as an instrumentality of the City of South Bend, Indiana (the "City ") to finance local public <br />improvements for lease to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission (the "Commission ") on <br />behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana, Department of Redevelopment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority owns, leases and manages property within the boundaries of <br />the City; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of such ownership, leasing and managing of property, the <br />Authority receives frequent requests to perform administrative functions on behalf of the <br />Authority, including but not limited to, the approval of plats, the release of obsolete financing <br />documents, the submission of forms to other various entities and the execution of documents <br />related to the ownership, transfer and maintenance of property; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission leases from the Authority most of the property owned by <br />the Authority and the Commission and the Authority have worked to together to accomplish <br />numerous projects within the City and have similar interests and goals; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority lacks the staff necessary to accomplish all of the <br />administrative tasks that result from owning, leasing and managing property; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority desires to expressly authorize the Executive Director of the <br />Department of Community Investment or his designee to execute such administrative documents <br />as necessary to provide for the proper maintenance and management of its property interests; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Executive Director of the Department of Community Investment, Scott Ford, <br />or his designee (the "Executive Director ") is hereby authorized to perform, on behalf of the <br />Authority, all administrative acts related to the owning, leasing, or managing of property, <br />including, but not limited to, all approvals necessary to complete a replatting process, a tax <br />
