QCOmmftt$$ Uport: <br /> The Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> to the tOmmOnn QCOtt'lttUY of the efty of 16outb en : <br /> The April 13, 1998 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee was called to by <br /> Council Member Varner in the absence of Council Member John Hosinski order at 4:15 <br /> p.m. in the Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Hosinski, Aranowski, Broden,Pfeifer, <br /> Varner,Ujdak, Kelly, and Coleman; Citizen member Doug Carpender,James Voll, Terry <br />• Bland,Dean Carlson, Ricardo Milton,Marco Mariani,Mike Danch, David DuVall,James <br /> Brown, Chris Davey, Gail Alexander, Kevin Butler, Kyle Payne, Marilyn Gardner, and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Varner noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 133- <br /> 97 which is a rezoning request for the property located in the 4001 Block of Brick Road. <br /> Mr. James Voll noted that this is an Area Plan Commission and the APC staff send the <br /> measure to the Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Mr.Michael Danch spoke on behalf of the petitioners,James Brown and Chris Davey. He <br /> noted that they would like to develop the area for industrial purposes. It was noted that the <br /> proposal is in conformance with the goals of the Blackthorn Development Plan. A <br /> Preliminary Rezoning Plan was provided to the Committee(copy attached). <br /> Following discussion, Citizen Member Doug Carpender made a motion, seconded by <br /> Council Member Pfeifer that Bill No. 126-98 be recommended favorable to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> The next item reviewed by the Committee was Bill No. 2-98 which is a zoning request for <br /> the properties located at 125, 127, 137, 201, 209, 229, 235, 243, 301 and 315 East <br /> Broadway Street. <br /> Mr. James Voll noted that this is an Area Plan Commission and the APC staff send the <br /> measure to the Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Marco Mariani, Neighborhood Planner spoke in favor of the measure and provided a <br /> statement to the Committee in favor of the housing imitative being completed by American <br /> Home Dreams, Inc. (copy attached). <br /> Council Member Pfeifer,the District Council Member, for the area state that the homes are <br /> beautiful and spoke in favor of the proposal. Council Member Kelly also spoke in favor of <br /> the proposal. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Pfeifer made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Broden that Bill No. 2-98 be recommended favorable to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed substitute Bill No. 19-98 which is a rezoning request for the <br /> property located on the west side of Portage Road,north of Bendix Drive. <br />
