The cur-rent ordinance restricts members of the Youth <br /> Advisory Council to residents of the City of South Bend,Indiana.Public and private <br /> Eli Wax schools in South Bend include many students who are not residents of the City, but <br /> Fifth District who can nevertheless benefit from enhanced citizenship skills and serve the best <br /> Sheila Niezgodski interests of youth in the South Bend area.These amendments remove the South Bend <br /> residency requirements for Youth Advisory Council members and make all high <br /> Sixth District school age grades 9-12 youth living in St. Joseph County, Indiana eligible to serve <br /> Karen L.White on the Council. <br /> At Large <br /> Please schedule these amendments for first reading at the Common Council meeting <br /> Rachel Tomas Morgan on July 11,2022 and assign it to the Residential Neighborhoods Standing Committee <br /> At Large for consideration at its July 25, 2022 meeting with second and third readings and <br /> public hearing at the full Council meeting that evening. <br /> Lori K.Hamann <br /> At Large Thank you for your consideration. <br /> Sincerely yours, <br /> f� <br /> Karen L.
