QCnmmtt#rr arpnrt <br /> RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE <br /> au tic fdummun Qtounrll of the (Dig of#EPmd1i Wr�uh: <br /> The January 24, 1991 meeting of the Residential <br /> Neighborhoods Committee was called to order by it's <br /> Chairperson, Council Member Loretta Duda, at 7 : 10 p.m. in <br /> the Council Informal Meeting. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members, Niezgodski, <br /> Soderberg, Duda, Coleman, and Puzzello; John Leszczynski, <br /> Chief Marciniak, Don Porter, Bernard B. Berman, Janet B. <br /> Berman. E.H. McNease, Ralph M. Hass, Bill Kerrigan, Janice <br /> Horan, John Horan, Marian Poulin, Tom Poulin, John Oren, <br /> Jeannie Oren. Jojo Meehan, Bill Meehan, Charles D. Colip, <br /> Fred Baer, Frank E. Horka, Larry Clifford, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Duda began the meeting by introducing the <br /> Committee Members, namely: Council Member Coleman, Council <br /> Member Soderberg, Council Member Niezgodski, and herself as <br /> Chairperson. <br /> She noted that this was a follow meeting to a previous <br /> meeting held in the Council Chambers addressing the <br /> Jefferson-Twyckenham intersection. Issues raised earlier <br /> addressed traffic flow, speeding, and the need for better <br /> communication. <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Poulin noted that they had discussed with <br /> Eugenia Schwartz on this issue, however they were not <br /> formally represented by her this evening. <br /> It was noted that the group of individuals present this <br /> evening represented a far larger group of concerned <br /> residents. <br /> Council Member Soderberg noted that he and Council Member <br /> Duda had been in contact with the Chief of Police following <br /> the last meeting. Chief Marciniak noted that he has ordered <br /> a "directed patrol" which means that extra attention will be <br /> given to the area between Logan and Eddy Street for a thirty <br /> (30) day period. He also noted that 6, 000 moving tickets are <br /> issued per year, and between 6, 000 to 8, 000 warning tickets <br /> are issued per year. However, there was no total for the <br /> specific area in question. <br /> Mr. Berman noted that there were two (2) accidents at the <br /> intersection last week, and one (1) already this week. <br /> Mr. Leszczynski noted stated that the intersection is not <br /> wide enough for a left turn lane only.
