ZIT H E R E A S it is necessary and in the public interest that the of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment avail itself of the assistance provided by Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, to carry out the urban renewal project described as the Sample Street Redevelopment Project Area and bounded generally by the N e w Yor Central Railroad and Oliver Property on the North, Scott Street and rairie Avenue on the East, Sample Street and Garst Street on the South and Wilson Brothers Property and McPherson Street on the West, here"nafter referred to as the "Project" ; and W HERE A S it is recognized that the Federal contract for such fina cial assistance pursuant to said Title I will impose certain obliga- tions and responsibilities upon the Local Public Agency and will require among other things: (1) the provision of local grants -in -aid; (2) a feasi- ble method for the relocation of families displaced from the project area; and ( ) other local obligations and responsibilities in connection with the undo and carrying out of urban renewal projects: - 1 -
