By the end of the year, a new organizational structure took shape, nearly reaching a <br /> full staff that hit the ground running to advance the ambitious goals set in 2018. Changes included: <br /> • Adding Historic Preservation staff(2)to the Planning and Community Resources team <br /> • Changing Assistant Executive Director position to Director of Engagement and Economic Empowerment <br /> and repurposing an Associate position to Economic Empowerment Specialist <br /> • Shifting of property development group from previous Economic Resources team to Planning and <br /> Community Resources team <br /> • Retaining of 2 DCI staff positions in budget that have dotted line reporting to A/F(Financial Specialist III) <br /> and I&T(Business Analyst)as long-term needs identified <br /> Key goals set for 2019 <br /> 1. Advance neighborhood development program, move more vacant lots to valuable uses <br /> 2. Implement processes associated with new organizational structure <br /> 3. Continue implementation of West Side Main Streets,SE Master, and City Cemetery plans <br /> 4. Zoning reform <br /> 5. Improve engagement and information sharing, including better accessibility of information online(e.g. <br /> city property database) <br /> 6. Pilot economic empowerment programs <br /> 7. Increase focus of business development team on small business and workforce development <br /> 8.
