6 A ( `"1) <br />� ypUTB eF <br />dli illjfi 1O <br />Community & Economic Development <br />1865 <br />227 West Jefferson, Suite 1200, South Bend, Indiana 46601 -1830 ❑ Phone 574/235 -9371 ❑ Fax 574/235 -9021 <br />To: South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />From: Jitin Kain, Senior CED Specialist <br />Subject: Study of Redevelopment sites along Niles & Colfax <br />Date: September 23, 2011 <br />Two key sites in the East Bank Village, which lies in the South Bend Central Development Area (SBCDA), <br />have seen significant development activity over recent months — the former Rink Building site is now home to <br />the East Bank Village Townhomes and the former Troeger site on Niles Ave. will soon see additional <br />residential development. <br />Staff would like to engage the services of Kil Architecture & Planning to study the marketability of two <br />Commission owned sites along Niles and Colfax Ave. for potential future development. The study will <br />investigate maximum building square footage for the sites and develop schematic building designs. This <br />information will be valuable to staff while engaging in discussions with private developers and interested <br />parties about the highest and best use of these development parcels. <br />The attached proposal by Kil Architecture & Planning further outlines the scope of work for this study.
