SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 16, 2007 <br />The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br />Monday the 16th of Apri12007 at the O'Brien Administration & Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter <br />St., South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date, time and place of the meeting <br />were duly given as required by law. <br />Park Board members present were as follows: <br />Mr. Robert Henry, President <br />Mr. Robert Goodrich, Vice President <br />Dr. Thomas Kelly <br />Mr. Garrett Mullins <br />Park Board members absent were as follows: <br />None <br />Staff members present: Phil St. Clair, Superintendent; Bill Carleton, Fiscal Officer; Paul McMinn, <br />Assistant Recreation Director; Randy Nowacl.i, Director of Golf Operations; Matt Moyers, <br />Special Projects Administrator; Mike Dyszkiewicz, Maintenance Superintendent; Phil Custard, <br />Purchasing Manager; Thomas Bodnar, Parl: Board Attorney <br />L The meeting was called to order by Board President Robert Henry at 4:06 p.m. <br />II. The first order of business was Nye interviewing of interested citizens. <br />Ms. Martha Woods, Botanical Society Board Member, reported that the Botanical Society <br />has planned a number of e~-~euts and classes at the Conservatory. The membership is now <br />at 160. The 50 I (c) ~ application is ready to be submitted. <br />A number of cleaning and refurbishing projects are planned. <br />Volunteers are being sought to staff the front door. <br />Grants in the amount of $62,000 have been secured for repairs. <br />President Henry asked how the repairs will be handled. Mr. Moyers answered that the <br />grants are being held by the Historic Preservation Society. Mr. Diesel is being consulted. <br />He will be here to provide an itemized list of recommendations in May. <br />2. South Bend Baseball Club, LLC was not present. <br />N1r. Rocky Papandria of Segway of Indiana made a request to rent a portion of the East <br />Race Sector building. He would use it to operate tours of the downtown on Segway <br />transporters. It would be seasonal from April through October. <br />Superintendent St. Clair explained that the Board would have to declare the space no <br />longer needed in the short term and to approve advertising for lease and bring those <br />proposals to the Board. <br />--1-- <br />
