Regular meeting. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on <br />Monday January Blst, 3935. at 8:30 A. 11. All. .members were <br />present. The Tiayor's Secretary also attended. <br />Minutes of the letting of January 14th were read and approved. <br />Bills bearing the following requisition numbers were approved. <br />o8o78 &8066 08071 08064 08065 06076 08069 08074 <br />08067 08068 08056 08062 08053 08055 08070 08060 <br />08057 08072 <br />Also claims for the following <br />Hibberd Printing Co. $22.50; Seherman, Schaus greeman Co. <br />$1375.21; Taylor's Service Stores $4.87; Total $1402.58. <br />Fire Department, Chief 'dim. Freeh present. <br />Demotions were made by motion in the Fire Department as fol- <br />lows: <br />Captain John Howard demoted to Private <br />Lieut. Henry Regard <br />Lieut. August Kraszewski <br />Prom6tions were made as follows: <br />Lieut. Alex Frederick promoted to Captain <br />Priv. Harvey Kletka r' " Lieutenant <br />Priv. Charles Aldrich <br />Priv. Joseph Burzynski <br />^� Turnock was placed on the roll of the Fire Dept. <br />to take the place of Roy Knoblock, resigned, all changes to <br />take effect as of Feb. 1st 1935. <br />ided to divide the Fire Hose patronage among four <br />`who had all quoted the same price, and at this <br />der 1000 ft. of 2'" Double Jacket Fire Hose, <br />h 250 ft to furnish as follows; <br />American- LaFrance Co. <br />Manhattan Rubber Co. <br />Hamilton Rubber Co. <br />G.E.Meyer & Son. <br />The resignation of Roy Knoblock from the Fire Dept. was <br />accepted on motion. <br />Wm. Freeh submitted a report of the Firemen's Pension Fund, <br />showing receipts for the year 1934 to be 40 475.34, and dis- <br />bursements X17,888.44, leaving a balance of 22,586.90. The <br />Bond account as of January lst 1935 is $157,914.32, making <br />a total value of the fund $167,855.28. <br />The following applications for the Fire Dept were placed <br />on file: <br />John J. Dombrowski <br />Walter A. Karpinski <br />Henry Witkowski <br />Electrical Dept.. ism. Qualls present <br />Tr1Ir. Qualls reported the cost of repairing traffic signal by <br />4 Alex Wroblewski, who was fined $25.00 and costs and '60 days, <br />which were suspended. The Secretary was instructed to notify <br />the City Judge, so he may demand the payment as Dart of the <br />offender's probation. <br />The matter of lamp contract for the year 1935 was discussed, <br />and it was decided to place this patronage with the Electri- <br />cal Construction Co. on the basis of their competitive bid. <br />It-was moved, seconded and carried that the reco>>m.endation <br />of the Mayor be approved that an examination for the position <br />of City Electrician be held in the Council Chamber on the <br />first Monday in February at 9 A.M. and t_at proper notice <br />be prepared by the City Attorney, and that the Secretary <br />be instructed to properly advertise. <br />
