Broden, Public Works & Property Vacation Committee Chairperson Date: December 22, 2016 2016 Annual Report of the Public Works & Property Vacation Committee Dear Common Councilmembers: As Chairperson of the Public Works & Property Vacation Committee, I am filing this report pursuant to § 2 -10(i) of the South Bend Municipal Code. It highlights some of the Committee's activities involving zoning and special exception requests affecting the land use decisions in the City of South Bend. Duties: As noted in the South Bend Municipal Code, the Public Works & Property Vacation Committee is charge with the following duties: "Overseeing the various activities performed by the Building Department, the Department of Public Works and related public works and property vacation issues. Members: There were four (4) Council Members this year serving on the Committee, namely: 1. Councilmember Jo M. Broden, Chairperson 2. Councilmember John Voorde, Vice - Chairperson 3. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic, Member 4. Councilmember Randy Kelly, Member Meetings: As of the date of this Annual Report, the Public Works & Property Vacation met eleven (11) times this year. The majority of the Committee meetings focused on several requests for alley vacations and updates on various construction projects throughout the City.
