Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of'South Band, Indiana, met in Regular Session, <br />in the Council Chambers, City Hall, November 25th, 1946, at 7 :40 P.M., with all members present <br />except Councilman McCarthy. President Korpal presided. The reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting <br />was waived. <br />PETITION. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE BOARD OF NORKS AND SAFETY <br />Members of the Common Council, <br />City Hall, - <br />South Lend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: <br />November 25, 1946. <br />We have been informed by the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company that the following street lights ordered <br />in by the Board of Public Works and Safety, have been installed and are now in service: <br />North Side Boulevard at 34th Street Ironwood Drive and Donald Streets <br />Woodlawn Street at Parkview Place Ostemo Street and Iroquois Dtive'. <br />Elwood and Elliott Streets Sample Street at the jog near Columbia Street <br />0stemo and Marquette`Streets West Colfax Avenue between LaFayette & Williams <br />Chapin and Donald Streets Northwood Drive opposite number 701 between Rockne & <br />Calh6un and Kaley Streets Campeau <br />Ewing Avenue and Glenn Street Eclipse Place and Humboldt street <br />Elwood Avenue and Kaley Street (YOURS TRULY, BOARD OF PUBLIC MRK S AND SAFETY) <br />Councilman Heideman made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE BOARD OF 7nM S AND SAFETY <br />November 19th, 1946. <br />Members of the Common Council, <br />City Hall,_ <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen <br />Attached hereto is a copy of a report to the Board of Public Works and Safety recommending the installation <br />of a street light on South Main Street. The Board approved this installation and ordered the light in. <br />Also attached is a report from Mr. Qualls regarding the street lights that have been ordered in. <br />A street light has been ordered_in for the intersection of 30th and Hastings Streets. Petitions for street <br />lights at 24th and Hastings, Elwood and Johnson Streets and Donald and Scott Streets have been referred to <br />Mr. Qualls for investigation and report. Mr. Qualls is out of the City at present, but as soon as he returns <br />we will ask,him for his report on the above lights. <br />We find no record of a petition for a street light at Colfax Avenue and Spruce Street. <br />Very truly yours, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC 341ORKS AND SAFETY <br />Councilman Bishop made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN_ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2331 C0104ONLY <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA. (Lots 370 38 and 39 in O'lakland Park Addition) <br />The Ordinance was given first and second' reading. Councilman Bishop made a motion that the Ordinance be set <br />for Public Hearing on L`ecember 9th, 1946, at 7 :30 P.M. Councilman Richardson seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE TO RESTRICT THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING <br />PERMITS TO CONSTRUCTION UNDERTAKEN PURSUANT TO THE VETERANS' <br />EMERGENCY HOUSING ACT OF 1946 AND OTHER LAWS, :STD REGULATIONS AND <br />ORDERS, RMATING TO THE VETERANS' EMIMaENCY HOUSING PROGRAM; <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />
