Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in regular session in the Council <br />Chambers in the City Hall, on Monday, February 27th, 1961, at 8:10 P.M., with all members present. TIP-meeting was <br />called to order by President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided. <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson, Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski <br />ABSENT: None <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee on the inspection and supervison of the minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected <br />the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Councilman Krueper seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />To the Honorable Council: <br />Feb. 11, 1961 <br />I want to thank you and express my sincere appreciation for all the kind thoughts extended to me by the City Council, <br />Plan Commission and city personnel during my illness. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />/s/ Walter C. Erler, Sr. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Lehman seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />Communication from Mayor Charles A, Mobley, Flint, Michigan relative to House Bill 3647 which would abolish the 10% <br />Federal Excise Tax levied against Automobiles manufactured in this Country. Mayor Mobley asked the Council to <br />study this proposed Bill and act upon it. <br />Councilman Lehman made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />The Common Council February 24, 1961 <br />City of South Bend <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen of the Council: <br />At a regular meeting of the South Bend - Mishawaka Board of Realtors held February 17, 1961, the enclosed resolution <br />was adopted. <br />We humbly request your sincere consideration of the resolution. <br />Sincerely, <br />/s/ Ronald A. Ormsby <br />RAO: <br />Executive Secretary <br />_ <br />Enc. <br />R E S O L U T I O N <br />Whereas, a parking survey of South Bend may be proposed before the Common Council at a cost of $15,000 <br />to the taxpayers of this community: <br />Now Therefore, it is resolved by the South Bend - Mishawaka Board of Realtors to oppose the expense of such <br />a survey, for the following reasons. <br />1. The survey is not necessary. <br />2. The survey can be made by the local newspaper and by public spirited groups, such as, service clubs, <br />Boy Scout and Camp Fire Girls at a much lower cost. <br />SOUTH BEND - MISHAWAKA BOARD OF REALTORS <br />Councilman Lehman made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file.
