PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION FEBRUARY 16.2011 9 The Board of Public Safety met in the Public Agenda Session at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 with President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick D. Cottrell, Laura Vasquez and Eddie Miller present. Board Member Bruce BonDurant was absent. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard Buchanon, and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor County City Building, South Bend, Indiana. Board members discussed the following items from that list: - 2010 Annual Towing Statistics — Police Department Mr. Bodnar informed the Board members that a replacement towing statistics chart was handed out to correct an error in the calculations in the chart they received. He noted there was no need to add any additional towing companies to the list for 2011. - Accept Donation — Police Department Mr. Bodnar made note of the generous donation by a Mrs. Sandstrom of $1,000.00 toward the purchase of a new K9. - Retirement — Engineer Cyril Quinn Mr. Bodnar informed the Board that Engineer Quinn received a commendation in the past for his assistance in an emergency rescue situation. Chief Buchanon confirmed that his position is one that will be filled by the current recruits. He requested the Board meeting of April 13, 2011 be held at the Central Fire Station to swear in the new recruits. Vasquez, . a&z -) Eddie Miller, Member AT ST: Linda M .Martin, CIA EXECUTIVE SESSION FEBRUARY 16.2011 The Board of Public Safety met in the Executive Session on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting was held in the Mayor's Conference Room, 14th Floor, County City Building, South Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C. 5- 14- 1.5 -6.1 (b) (2) (B) and (b) (6) (A). President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick Cottrell, Laura Vasquez, and Eddie Miller were present. Board Member Bruce BonDurant was absent. Also present were Police Chief Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard Buchanon, and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. Board members did not discuss any subject matter other than the subject matter as specified in the Public Notice. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m. BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY
