Martin, Cle <br />FEBRUARY 16, 2011 <br />Bruce J,,BonDurant, Member <br />UG I 16AIW <br />Laura Vasquez, 111emb r <br />Eddie Miller, Member <br />10 <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 16, 2011 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, <br />2011, with President Juanita Dempsey and Board Members Patrick Cottrell, Laura Vasquez, and <br />Eddie Miller present. Board Member Bruce BonDurant was absent. Also present were Police Chief <br />Darryl Boykins, Fire Chief Howard Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />President Dempsey advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the Minutes of <br />the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular Meetings of the Board held on January <br />19, 2011 and the Special Meeting of February 1, 2011, would be accepted as presented. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />FILING OF 2010 ANNUAL TOWING STATISTICS <br />Lieutenant Stephen Goen, Traffic Manager, South Bend Police Department, submitted to the Board <br />the annual towing statistics for the Police Department for 2010. The report indicated the number of <br />total requests, the number of total tows, and the number of refusals for each of the four towing <br />companies. Attorney Thomas Bodnar noted the number of tows does not indicate a need for <br />additional towing companies to be added to the Police Department list. There being no questions <br />concerning this report, the 2010 Annual Towing Report was accepted for filing as submitted. <br />ACCEPT AND FILE DONATIONS TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Boykins, Police Department, advised the Board of two generous donations made to the South <br />Bend Police Department. The donation of equipment consisting of three metal storage cabinets, two <br />white dry erase boards, one electric safe, a coffee pot and an AlcoHawk Series BPT was accepted <br />from Ron Goze of the A.J. Wright Corporation. The donation of $1,000.00 for the K -9 Unit was <br />accepted from Mrs. Sandstrom. There being no further discussion, the donations were accepted and <br />filed <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT — JANUARY 2011 <br />President Dempsey indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the <br />Board, the statistical analysis report for the month of January, 2011, as submitted by the Police <br />Department, would be accepted for filing.
