<br />Quotations submitted by Art Emerson, for the repair of his car, 
<br />am-aged by Fire Department equipment, were delivered to the City Attorney 
<br />y Fire Chief, Richard J. Duck, who, being present, stated that in his 
<br />pinion, the Fire Department was at fault and Mr. Emerson is entitled 
<br />o redress in this instance. 
<br />The Fire Chief then presented quotations for the painting of Hose 
<br />Ouse No. 3. The Board examined these quotations and awarded this paint 
<br />ob to Modern Decorating Company, as having submitted the lowest and 
<br />est offer. 
<br />Captain's and Lieutenants Daily Reports, covering runs made into 
<br />utlying area by Engine Companies Il, 13 and 22, during the period of 
<br />une 23rd to July 5th inclusive, were examined and ordered filed. 
<br />LICE DEPARTMENT: 
<br />The Police Department application of Virgil F. Kulwicki, was examined 
<br />referred to the Director of Personnel. 
<br />In consideration of the fact that prices currently being paid for 
<br />i_res by the City, from a single source, are found to be out of line in 
<br />orrparison with the prices available for equal quality from other tire 
<br />endors, the Board directed that future tire business be divided among. 
<br />hree or more local dealers carrying top quality tires, and equipped to 
<br />ender the special service required, in particular by the Police Depart - 
<br />ent. 
<br />The time now being 11 :00 o'clock 
<br />or the opening of bids, announcement 
<br />eceived to supply a. station wagon for
