<br />Mr. Gilot made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be
<br />filed. Mr. Inks seconded the motion, which carried.

<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the meeting
<br />recessed at 10:25 a.m., to be reconvened on October 10, 2006 at 4:15 p.m.
<br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MEETING RECONVENED
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Board of Public
<br />Works meeting reconvened at 4:15 p.m., on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, in the Meeting
<br />Room, 1300 County City Building, South Bend, Indiana, with Board member Donald E.
<br />Inks present. Board Member Carl P. Littrell was not present. Also present was Board
<br />Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
<br />AWARD BID - FREDRICKSON PARK NORTH EXTENSION CLOSURE AND GAS
<br />EXTRACTION SYSTEM -PROJECT NO. 103-018 (COITI
<br />Mr. Gary Gilot advised the Board that on September 11, 2006, bids were received and
<br />opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Gilot
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Rieth Riley Construction Company, 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />in the amount of $455,380.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot
<br />seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />The Board discussed possible future modifications to the construction plan including the
<br />Boy Scouts doing some of the planting as volunteer work and the sidewalk leading to the
<br />future pavilion being eliminated at this time.
<br />TABLE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Traffic Control
<br />Device to install two hour parking on Notre Dame Avenue from Angela to Napoleon was
<br />tabled.
