REGULAR MEETING JULY 10.2006 r , ~~ <br />~~~ <br />Humanity would like to construct a single family residence at this location. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request was approved. <br />TABLE REOUEST TO ACQUIRE CITY-OWNED PROPERTY -VACANT LOT <br />ADJACENT TO 2305 SMITH -HABITAT FOR HUMANITY <br />Mr. Gilot stated favorable recommendations have been received from the Mayor, Code <br />Enforcement, Community and Economic Development, Park Department, and the Legal <br />Department, in conjunction with a request from the Habitat for Humanity to acquire the <br />City-owned property as described above. The Division of Engineering noted that this <br />property may still be owned by St. Joseph County. Habitat for Humanity would like to <br />construct a single family residence at this location. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, <br />seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request was tabled. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ACQUIRE CITY-OWNED PROPERTIES - 1134 <br />GEORGIANA/1147 BURNS/1121 DUEY - NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD <br />REVITALIZATION ORGANIZATION /SOUTH BEND HERITAGE FOUNDATION <br />Mr. Gilot stated favorable recommendations have been received from the Mayor, <br />Division of Engineering, Code Enforcement, Community and Economic Development, <br />Park Department, and the Legal Department, in conjunction with a request from the <br />Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization to acquire the City-owned property <br />as described above. This organization is in the process of replating and will be <br />constructing a number of new homes in this area. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, <br />seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request was approved. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION -PETITION TO VACATE A STREET - <br />SOUTH HALF OF FRANCES STREET FROM NORTH LINE OF COLFAX AVENUE <br />TO THE SOUTH LINE OF LUTHER COURT. EXTENDED (NORTH HALF TO <br />REMAIN A DEDICATED STREET) -SOUTH BEND CLINIC <br />Mr. Gilot indicated that Mr. Paul Meyer, South Bend Clinic, 211 North Eddy Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, 815 West Indiana, South Bend, Indiana, has submitted a request to <br />vacate the above referred to street. Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of <br />favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area Plan <br />Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department of Economic <br />Development and the Department of Public Works. Area Plan stated if this street is <br />vacated, it be done so subject to any utility or access easements that are necessary. Their <br />staff recommends that these vacations not be effective until all the affected properties <br />have been acquired. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the Clerk send a letter to <br />the petitioner addressing these concerns.
