OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />TOB <br />There was no Old Business. <br />HERE WAS NO LD USINESS <br /> <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Mr. Inks noted that Mr. Gary Gilot, President of the <br />South Bend Board of Public Works, intended to give the <br />report on Item 6.A.(1), but was delayed in arriving at the <br />meeting. He asked that the item be postponed until Mr. <br />Gilot arrives. There was no objection and item 6.A.(1) <br />was postponed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> B. West Washington-Chapin Development Area <br /> <br />(1) Resolution No. 2592 related to acquisition <br />of property in the West Washington- <br />Chapin Development Area. (Hansel <br />Center) <br /> <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that Hansel Center, 1045 <br />West Washington St., was added to the West <br />Washington-Chapin Development Area <br />Acquisition List on July 14, 2009. <br />Resolution No. 2592 sets the offering price at <br />$51,500, the average of two independent <br />appraisals and authorizes the sending of a <br />purchase offer. <br /> <br />Upon acquisition of this historic building, the <br />city, in conjunction with the University of <br />Notre Dame’s Institute for Latino Studies, <br />will begin rehabilitation work on the interior <br />and exterior of the building. The city has <br />committed up to $500,000 to the purchase <br />and exterior rehab. The University of Notre <br />Dame has committed up to $800,000 to the <br />interior rehab.
