South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -August 26, 2009 <br />resulting plan includes primarily residential <br />development on the Transpo site. It includes <br />reworking of the river front, an update of <br />Howard Park, bike paths and walkways along <br />the river. It also suggests the conversion of <br />commercial property back to residential <br />along Jefferson Blvd. The plan also suggests <br />the removal of the cloverleaf off of Eddy <br />Street. Holladay Properties is currently <br />applying for a federal grant to help move the <br />cloverleaf. <br />Staff intends to present a declaratory <br />resolution at the next Commission meeting to <br />expand the boundaries of the South Bend <br />Central Development Area to include all the <br />area covered by the Howard Park <br />Neighborhood Master Plan. That would have <br />to be approved by the Area Plan Commission <br />and South Bend Common Council, followed <br />by a confirming resolution by the <br />Redevelopment Commission. A parallel <br />process would involve approval by the <br />Indiana Economic Development Commission <br />to expand the TIF allocation area. <br />(3) Certificate of Completion for Madison <br />Center. <br />Item 6.C.(3) Was tabled. They are <br />currently located on Hill Street. The lease <br />will run three years commencing <br />September 1, 2009 with the option to renew <br />for two additional three year terms.
