The effective date of this promotion is February 8, 2006. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the promotion was <br />approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE PROMOTIONS TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT -TIMOTHY <br />LANCASTER <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz stated that the South Bend Police Department <br />recommended that Corporal Lancaster be promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant in the <br />Investigative Division, as a School Resource Officer. The effective date of this promotion is February <br />20, 2006. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Dempsey and carried, <br />the promotion was approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE PROMOTIONS TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT -DAVID <br />HERRON <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz stated that the South Bend Police Department <br />recommended that Corporal Herron be promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant in the <br />Investigative Division, as a School Resource Officer. The effective date of this promotion is February <br />20, 2006. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the promotion <br />was approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVERETIREMENT - JEROME KRECZMER <br />President Rodriguez advised that Chief Thomas Fautz has submitted to the Board the Application and <br />Declaration for Retirement for Sergeant Jerome Kreczmer effective February 14, 2006. Chief Fautz <br />noted that Sergeant Kreczmer has served the Department with loyalty and distinction during the last <br />thirty-nine (39) years and two (2) months and fourteen (14) days. Chief Fautz joined the Board in <br />thanking him for his commitment, dedication and years of distinguished service to the South Bend <br />Police Department and the citizens of South Bend. Members also wished him a long and happy <br />retirement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the retirement <br />was accepted and approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO RESCIND SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSION - CLAUDIA <br />MCOUEEN <br />In a letter to the Board, Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that a Special Police Commission <br />be rescinded for the purpose of a Crossing Guard Unit for Ms. Claudia McQueen. Upon a motionby <br />Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the request to rescind the Special Police <br />Commission was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE -EUGENE KYLE <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended an Administrative Leave without pay for twenty-one (21) <br />
