The Police Department Accumulated Time <br />Account shall be continued and shall be subject to conditions established by the Board of <br />Public Safety. <br />Q. Flexible Time Account. The Flexible Time Account shall be continued and shall <br />be subject to conditions established by the Board of Public Safety. The maximum number <br />of hours permitted in any officer's or sworn member's line item within the Flexible Time <br />Account shall be eighty (80) hours. <br />R. Retirement Sick Leave Buy Back. The Retirement Sick Leave Buy-Back <br />program shall continue with the number of sick days which have been accumulated in a <br />sworn member's or officer's sick bank being increased from forty-five (45) days to sixty <br />(60) days with the rate of reimbursement being one-half (1/2) the hourly rate of the base <br />pay for the rank of corporal. <br />S. Sick Leave Cost Reduction Prog~. The Sick Leave Cost Reduction Program <br />shall continue in effect whereby a police officer may be compensated for relinquishment of <br />earned sick time through and including December 1, 2001, with the Board of Public Safety <br />establishing specific criteria and conditions in the Working Agreement. <br />Section III. Bodv Armor Vest Quartermaster Svstem. <br />A body armor vest quartermaster system shall be established January 1, 1998, for <br />all members of the Uniform Division. All Uniform Division police officers shall be <br />provided with acity-purchased body armor vest which shall be replaced pursuant to a <br />quartermaster system. Twelve (12) new body armor vests shall be purchased by the City <br />each year and made available to non-Uniform Division police on an on-needed basis, first <br />come first serve. <br />The Common Council recommends that the Working Agreement as tentatively <br />agreed to by the respective Wage Teams be approved by the Board of Public Safety. <br />
