Bill No. 64-9'7 <br />Page 2 <br />A. The South Bend Common Council recognizes the F.O.P. Bargaining <br />Committee of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge No. 36, as the sole bargaining unit for <br />the negotiation of annual pay and monetary fringe benefits for sworn members of the South <br />Bend Police Department, excluding the Police Chief, Division Chiefs and Captains. <br />B. The Police Chief, Division Chiefs and Captains of the South Bend Police <br />Department are designated in this ordinance as "Officers". <br />The annual pay for the officers and sworn members of the South Bend Police <br />Department, by rank, for calendar years 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 shall be established as <br />follows: <br />Rank 1998 1999 2000 2001 <br />Police Chief $52,000 $54,165 $57,000 $59,400 <br />Division Chiefs $46,550 $ 48,950 $ 51,630 $54,400 <br />Captains $40, 885 $ 42, 570 $ 44, 740 $ 46,800 <br />Lieutenants $33,075 $35,000 $37,050 $39,150 <br />Sergeants $31,700 $33,500 $35,450 <br />Corporals $30,200 $31,800 $33,800 <br />Patrolmen First Class $26,000 $27,000 $28,500 <br />Section III. Additional Areas of Compensation. <br />$37,500 <br />$36,100 <br />$31,275 <br />A. Maximum Amounts: All monetary areas addressed in this ordinance shall be the <br />maximum amounts permitted in each calendar year. <br />B. S'ourt Time Pay: If an officers or sworn member of the South Bend Police <br />Department is subpoenaed to court or is ordered to appear at any given location to validate <br />a complaint or warrant, and if that officer or sworn member is off-duty, that officer or <br />sworn member shall be paid overtime. Such court time pay shall be paid at the overtime <br />rate of pay. Such officers and sworn members shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours <br />
