South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting –July 14, 2009 <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br /> <br />A. Public Hearing <br /> <br />(1) continued… <br /> <br />On May 19, the St. Joseph County Area Plan <br />Commission, the official planning body for <br />the City of South Bend, approved Resolution <br />No. 196-09, which approved, ratified, and <br />confirmed Resolution No. 2580, determining <br />that it conforms to the plan of development <br />for the city. <br /> <br />On June 8, the South Bend Common <br />Council, the municipal legislative body for <br />the City of South Bend, approved Resolution <br />No. 3974-09, which approved, ratified, and <br />confirmed the Area Plan Commission’s <br />Resolution No. 196-09. <br /> <br />The final process in amending the <br />Development Plan to allow this acquisition is <br />the Confirming Resolution before the <br />Commission today. Staff requests <br />Commission approval of this Resolution, <br />which will allow the purchase and <br />rehabilitation of this historic building, and <br />through a joint effort between the <br />Commission and Notre Dame, its adaptive <br />reuse as the Notre Dame Center for Art & <br />Culture. <br /> <br />PHRN.2587 <br />Ms. Jones opened the public hearing for <br />UBLIC EARING ON ESOLUTION O <br />anyone who wished to speak regarding <br />Resolution No. 2587. <br /> <br />MS.
