Airport Economic Development Area <br /> <br />(1) Staff report on adding properties to the <br />Acquisition List. <br /> <br />S <br />Mr. Relos gave the staff report. On June 5, <br />TAFF REPORT ON ADDING PROPERTIES TO THE <br />AL <br />CQUISITION IST <br />2009, the Commission authorized staff to <br />begin the process to add three target areas to <br />the acquisition list of the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. This process includes <br />the gathering of information on the parcels to <br />be added, and an estimation of costs <br />associated with the acquisition and <br />redevelopment of these properties. The <br />information which follows is a summary on <br />staff findings: <br /> <br />Area 1 (Ivy Tech – East Sample) <br />In area 1 there are four properties which <br />would be acquired and eventually transferred <br />to Ivy Tech for much needed expansion of <br />classrooms, storage, and parking. This plan <br />dovetails nicely with Innovation and Ignition <br />Parks’ needs for a specialized, educated <br />workforce. It rehabilitates this section of <br />East Sample, which will become a gateway <br />between the two Parks, and shows <br />community support for Ivy Tech, which will <br />allow Ivy Tech to get more state dollars for <br />future expansion. <br /> <br />The Commission would purchase the <br />properties and do certain demolition and <br /> 13 <br /> <br />
