Mr. Mullins seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />V.Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Dr. Kelly made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on <br /> <br />January 19, 2009 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Mullins and approved. <br /> <br /> <br />VI.Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Mullins to approve maintenance vouchers for totaling <br />$753,914.17. It was seconded by Dr. Kelly. There being no further discussion, the motion <br />was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />VII.Business of Director St. Clair <br /> <br /> <br />1.Director St. Clair presented the Board with his annual report. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII.Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br /> <br />1.Mr. Nowacki reported that the golf courses are being evaluated for the upcoming season <br />and appear to be in great shape. <br /> <br />2.The maintenance equipment has been rebuilt and they are about three weeks ahead of <br />schedule. <br /> <br />3.The Tree Crew has completed tree trimming and stump removals will be done as weather <br />permits. <br /> <br />4.The Open House will be held March 7 at Erskine. <br />Mr. Goodrich asked if tabling the bid would impact getting the carts and the opening of <br />the golf season. Mr. Nowacki didn’t feel it would. Not all carts are usually out early in <br />the year and that would give them time to get the new carts in and ready for use. <br /> <br /> <br />IX.Comments by the Zoo Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. DeRosa reported that “Winter Days” will be held at the Zoo this Saturday. <br /> <br />2.He is working with Police, Fire, and Safety and Risk to train staff in various safety <br />procedures. Committees are being formed to comply with AZA requirements. <br /> <br />3.AZA has sent breeding recommendations for the Spot Nosed Guenons, Giant Anteater, <br />Diana Monkeys, DeBrazza’s Monkeys, and Takin. <br /> <br />4.Flamingos are going to be delivered to go into the renovated exhibit. <br /> <br />5.Construction is picking up with the break in the weather. <br /> <br />6.The Work Release/Road Crew from the Department of Corrections is doing well. There <br />are five individuals that come Tuesday through Thursdays. They have cleaned a lot of <br />areas. <br /> <br />7.Composting of animal waste and bedding is going well. It is hoped to be able to sell it to <br />landscaping companies in the future when it is tested for bacteria. <br /> <br />8.The Botanical Society is looking into additional heating for the Desert Dome. <br /> - - 3 - - <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
