Operations in South Bend, IN began in 1987. The new projects represent new business growth for sustained business at the South <br />Bend facility and continued retained highly compensated employment levels. <br />There are three projects for new business production lines inducted as part of the Petition: 1) Chrysler CMET4 production <br />line - total expected investment of $8,128,200, 2) GM Uplift production line - total expected investment of $1,887,000, and <br />3) GM Duramax Assembly Machine - total expected investment of $1,300,000. The expected cost to be invested in the <br />three projects totals 311,315,200 and will permit continued high levels of retained existing employment. <br />Approval of this application will allow continued capital investment in the South Send facility.
