No Left Turns at Certain Intersections. -- Left <br /> turns by vehicles are prohibited on Michigan Street. at the intersections <br /> of Jefferson Boulevard, Washington Avenue, and Colfax Avenue. <br /> Section 9. Marking Pavement for Turns. -- Where the street is <br /> of sufficient width the Board of Public Safety shall cause two lanes of . <br /> i <br /> traffic for turns to be designated by markers or signs upon the pavement <br /> at congested intersections or where safety zones are established. It <br /> shall be unlawful for any driver to fail to turn in accordance with <br /> such pavement markings and with any of the rules regarding right and <br /> left turns. <br /> Section 10. Discharging or Receiving Passengers at Congested <br /> Intersections. -- No vehicle shall be permitted to stop at any inter- j <br /> section where an automatic signal is stationed, or where a street car <br /> safety zone is established, or at any congested intersection, to dis- � <br /> charge or receive passengers, and no person shall get on or off any <br /> vehicle at such points, unless it is possible for such vehicle to draw <br /> close to the curb so as not to obstruct the flow of traffic; and any <br /> I such stopping for such purpose shall be for only such length of time <br /> as is necessary to discharge or receive passengers immediately, or <br /> only as incidental to waiting for a "Go" signal. No vehicle shall <br /> load or unload freight or merchandise at any such points. <br /> Section 11. By-pass Routes and "Vehicular Loop". -- By-pass <br /> routes around the central business section of the city are hereby <br /> established. That section of the city bounded by Madison, William, <br /> Monroe and St. Joseph Streets, and the St. Joseph River including said <br /> boundary streets shall be understood as the "Vehicular Loop" , and such <br /> boundary streets, as by-pass routes, shall become preferential or through <br /> streets as hereinafter provided. <br /> :o. Section 12. Preferential or Through Streets. -- The follow- <br /> ! <br /> ing streets or portions thereof, except at such intersections where <br /> automatic signals are stationed, are hereby designated as preferential <br /> or through streets, as defined in Section 1. <br /> • -4- <br />
