Arborist License Renewals- <br />The following license application was presented for approval by the Board: <br /> a. ArborCare, Inc. <br />Dr. Kelly made a motion to accept the renewal of the Arborist License and Mr. Mullins <br />seconded the motion. It was passed <br />2. Request to Ratify Independent Contractor Agreement for 2009 <br /> Ms. Greene noted some changes were still to be made to the final contract. <br /> Mr. Goodrich made a motion to approve the contract subject to final language that is <br />acceptable to the Legal Department. Mr. Mullins seconded the motion and it was passed. <br />3. Request to Approve Suspensions of Individuals from Golf Courses- Randy Nowacki <br />Ms. Greene wanted to make sure the policy adopted by the Board previously was <br />followed and suggested that Mr. Bodnar be consulted when he returned. <br /> <br /> <br />V.Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Dr. Kelly made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on <br /> <br />September 15, 2008 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Goodrich and approved. <br /> <br /> <br />VI.Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Goodrich to approve maintenance vouchers for totaling <br />$1,020,467.94. It was seconded by Mr. Mullins. There being no further discussion, the <br />motion was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />VII.Business of the Director <br /> <br />1. Director St. Clair reported on the master plan process. He handed out a summary of survey <br />results from community meetings and other venues. Mr. Moyers explained the process to <br />the Board. <br />2. Director St. Clair explained that a policy for nonprofit usage of park facilities is being <br />formulated for approval of the Board by the end of the year. <br />3. A study of the economic impact of Parks and Recreation facilities and programs is being <br />worked on. <br />4. Staff just returned from the annual National Parks and Recreation Association convention <br />last week. A variety of classes were attended and staff participated in discussions and <br />meetings relating to national issues confronting our field. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII.Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> <br />1.
