An irregular parcel of land in the N.W. 1 of Section 18, Township 37niNorth, Range 3 East, in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, being all of the tract of land lying between the center line of North Shore Boulevard and the low water line of the St. Joseph River, 200 feet in width, located 100 feet on either side of the center line of the proposed new right of way of the Grand Trunk Railway and measured at right angles therefrom; said center line being located and described as followss Beginning on the Southerly line of Mishawaka Avenue, as platted and laid out in the Northwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 3ighteen i8), Township Thirty-seven (37) North, Range Three (31 East, in the City od South Bend, in said County, at a point Nine Hundred and 'Fifty- I one Hundredths (900.51) feet from the intersection of the east line of Eddy Street with the Southerly line of Mishawaka Avenue, which point is One Hundred Fifty-five and Fifty-one Hundredths (155.51) feet easterly from the Northeast corner of hot Numbered Fourteen (14) in the Re- plat of Beyer's Second Addition to the City of South Bend, as recorded in Plat Book 12 at Page 24 of the records of said county, all measurements to be made along the southerly line of said Mishawaka Avenue„ thence South Fifty-three (53) degrees eighteen (18) minutes west (making an angle of seventy (70) degrees forty-six (46) minutes with the southerly line of said Mishawaka Avenue) to the St. Joseph River, which real estate is owned by said City for park purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Park Commissioners of said City have, after due and proper deliberation, resolved that said real estate should be sold and have duly requested this Council to pass an Ordinahee authorizing and directing said Park Board to sell said real estate as provided by law and has prepared and 'submitted this Ordinance for the consideration of this Council, which sale or sales of said tracts shall be made for not less than the fair cash value as fixed by three (3) disinterested freeholders of said City, who shall be appointed by the Judge of the St. Joseph Circuit Court of St. Joseph County, Indiana. SECTION 2. That the proceeds of such sale, or sales, shall be credited to the Department of Public Parks and expended in the improvement of the remaining park lands in the City of South Bend, Indiana, or in the purchase of other lands for park purposes for the said City of South Bend, as the said Board of Park Commissioners may deem for the best interests of said city.
