DESCRIPTION OF IMPROVEMENTS
The original portion of this building was located at the corner of Western and Olive
was a two story horse barn for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. This building measured
approximately 94' x 103'. This portion of the building was remodeled into part of the
present building.
When the PNA acquired the building, according to the Assessor's records, a one-
story addition measuring 88' x 138' was added to the north end contained the bowling
alley. It also indicates that the paving of the north end of the lot was done in 1967.
The first floor area contains a total of 22,321 sq. ft., and the second floor, part of the
original building, contains 10,197 sq. ft. The total building contains approximately 32,518
sq. ft.
It should be noted that a small portion of the original first floor of the building is
} still as it was when it was a horse stable with brick floors and brick walls. This portion of
the building is presently used for storage. The rest of the first floor contains a bowling alley
and a large bar room,as well as a large seating area. There are also restrooms.
The second floor contains a kitchen with two large banquet halls, and a men's and
ladies restroom. This area is frequently rented out for wedding receptions.
The following is a brief description of the property based upon our inspection. It is
neither an architectural report nor an engineering report, and is included primarily to
acquaint the reader with a verbal picture of the subject. Following the description are _
photographs which will further assist the reader.
I have also included an outline drawing of the building.
Description of Improvements:
Age:
The only reference to age on the Assessor's records are a transfer date of
01/01/1900. It is presumed that this is the age of the original building. As previously
indicated the Assessor's records indicate the bowling alley was built in 1926 and the paving
in 1967.
Foundation:
There is no basement. The building has a poured concrete foundation.
13
