ORDINANCE NO. 02 / " <br /> AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF <br /> THE STATE OF INDIANA ENTITLED "AN ACT CONCERNING THE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS IN CITIES OF THE FIRST <br /> CLASS, DEFINING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES, CREATING <br /> A TAXING DISTRICT FOR PARK PURPOSES IN EACH <br /> CITY OF THE FIRST CLASS, REPEALING CONFLI- <br /> CTING LAWS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, " <br /> APPROVED MARCH 14, 1919 , AND ACTS AM- <br /> ENDATORY THEREOF OR SUPPLEMENTAL <br /> THERETO, AND DECLARING AN EM- <br /> ERGENCY" , AS AUTHORIZED BY EN- <br /> ROLLED ACT NO. 176, BEING AN <br /> ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY <br /> OF THE STATE OF INDIANA <br /> WHICH SAID ACT NO. 176 <br /> WAS APPROVED ON .:'ARCH <br /> 1_ 6s 1929. <br /> WHEREAS the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br /> Indiana, has been requested by a petition signed by all members <br /> of the Board of Park Commissioners of said City to enact an <br /> ordinance providing for the adoption of an act entitled "An Act <br /> concerning the department of Public Parks in cities of the first <br /> class, defining its powers and duties, creating a taxing district <br /> for park purposes in each city of the first class, repealing con- <br /> flicting laws, and declaring an emergoency" approved March 14, <br /> 1919, and acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto, as <br /> authorized by enrolled Act No. 176 passed at the Seventy-sixth <br /> Regular Session of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, <br /> approved March 16 , 1929 , and which said enrolled Act No. 176 is <br /> entitled "An Act authorizing cities of the second class to adopt <br /> an act entitled 'An Act concerning the department of public parks <br /> in cities of the first class, defining its powers and' duties, - <br /> creating a taxing district for ,park purposes in such. city of the <br /> first class, repealing conflicting laws, and declaring an <br /> emergency' , approved March 14, 1919 , and acts amendatory thereof <br /> or supplemental thereto, and declaring an emergency" , therefore <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> SECTION 1. <br /> That an act entitled "An Act concerning the department . of <br /> -1- <br />
