Martin, Clerk <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 44 -2015 — A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS ON THE EXCHANGE OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />FOR INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Relos, seconded by Mr. Mueller and carried, the following <br />Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 44-2015 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />ON THE EXCHANGE OF UNFIT AND /OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY FOR <br />INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following <br />property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and. is no longer needed by the City of <br />South Bend: <br />2010 CHEVY IMPALA POLICE CAR NO. 3016 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 5 -22 -22 permits and establishes procedure for disposal of <br />personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />WHEREAS, the above listed vehicle was involved in an accident and is no longer tit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Police Department will be able to exchange the <br />above damaged vehicle with a net book value of approximately $5,059.00 for payment to the <br />City in the amount of $10,356.20 by the insurance company. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend that the item above is no longer needed by the City and /or is unfit for the purpose for <br />which it was intended. <br />ADOPTED this 11 th day of August, 2015. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Gary A. Martin, Clerk <br />ADOPTION OF REVISED CITY OF SOUTH BEND SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARD <br />DETAILS FOR UTILITY CUTS <br />Mr. Corbitt Kerr, Engineering, stated the current City standards allow for concrete utility patches <br />in the streets regardless of the existing material. The purpose of these revised standards is to <br />require a full lane the width of the trench plus one (1) foot and full depth patch, and allow <br />milling up to the edge of the travel lane or curb with option of one (1) foot to two (2) feet of <br />additional milling. He noted they also will require asphalt to be used on existing asphalt streets <br />for long -term maintenance and replacement savings to the city. Mr. Kerr stated the cities of <br />Mishawaka and Elkhart already have similar policies in place. Mr. Gilot asked if the policy <br />applies to all utilities, including municipal. Mr. Kerr confirmed the rules will apply to all, <br />including the City of South Bend. Mr. Relos questioned if the depth requirement would be the <br />full depth of the lane. Mr. Kerr stated it would require the existing depth or a minimum of 8 <br />Mr. Gilot noted these changes will also help the City to maintain and replace the streets with <br />limited tax revenue. He inquired as to the effective date of the new policy, noting if someone has <br />
