REGULAR MEETING JULY 15, 2015 55 Declaration for Retirement for Firefighter Scott Ambrose effective June 26, 2015. Chief Cox noted that Mr. Ambrose was appointed to the Fire Department on July 16, 1997, and has served with loyalty and diligence. Chief Cox j oined the Board in thanking him for his commitment, distinguished years of service to the South Bend Fire Department and the citizens of South Bend. Members also wished him a long and happy retirement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the retirement was accepted and approved. ACCEPT AND APPROVE DECLARATION FOR RETIREMENT — JAMES BURKUS President Collins advised that Fire Chief Steve Cox has submitted to the Board the Application and Declaration for Retirement for Firefighter lames Burkus effective July 1, 2015. Chief Cox noted that Mr. Burkus was appointed to the Fire Department on March 1, 1978, and has served with loyalty and diligence. Chief Cox joined the Board in thanking him for his commitment, distinguished years of service to the South Bend Fire Department and the citizens of South Bend. Members also wished him a long and happy retirement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the retirement was accepted and approved. APPROVE REVISED DUTY MANUAL Attached to a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Stephen Cox submitted a revised South Bend Fire Department Duty Manual. In his letter, Chief Cox requested the Board approve the revision that was submitted for review at the June 17, 2015 Board of Public Safety meeting. Upon a motion by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Jones and carried, the Board approved the revised Duty Manual. FILING OF QUARTERLY TRAVEL AND TRAINING EXPENDITURES REPORT - APRIL, MAY, AND JUNE 2015 Fire Chief Steve Cox submitted to the Board a written Quarterly Travel and Training Expenditures Report for the period of April, May, and June 2015. The report summarizes travel and training expenditures for the South Bend Fire Department personnel during this quarterly period. There being no questions concerning this report, the Quarterly Report for Travel and Training Expenditures was accepted and filed. FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT — JUNE 2015 Fire Chief Stephen Cox submitted to the Board the monthly report for June 2015 compiled by the Prevention/Inspection Bureau of the Fire Department, Mr. Collins stated if there were no objections, the Board would accept the report for filing as presented.
