PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION JULY 15, 2015 50 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the Public Agenda Session at 8:19 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, <br />2015 in the Auditorium, South Bend Police Department, 701 W. Sample St., South Bend, Indiana, <br />with Board President John Collins and Board Members Eddie Miller, Luther Taylor, and Daniel <br />Jones present. Also present was Police Chief Ronald Teachman, Fire Chief Stephen Cox, and <br />Attorneys Jessica Brock and Stephanie Steele. <br />Board members discussed the following agenda items: <br />- Swearing In of Officers <br />Police Chief Ronald Teachman stated he is requesting the Board swear in three (3) new officers. He <br />added he will also be promoting two (2) officers that will require their badge pinning. Chief <br />Teachman suggested it would make better sense to do the promotions during the swearing -in since <br />they are all being pinned. President John Collins agreed and suggested all promotions and swearing - <br />in's that require pinning, be done at once so the families can leave. The Board agreed to do the <br />pinning of the badges, and then take a recess to allow the families to leave. <br />- Discussion — Revised Job Description <br />Chief Teachman stated he will be asking the Board to proceed with a draft job description for the <br />Investigative Chief position, that is currently still under works. He noted it still needs Legal and <br />Human Resources approval. He added he is seeking the Board's input on the job description and <br />explained that the job duties have changed substantially since it was put into the duty manual <br />originally. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 a.m. <br />ATTEST: �! <br />Linda M .Martin, Clerk <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC 'ETY <br />J Collins, President <br />Eddie Miller, Member <br />Luther Taylor MX er <br />Daniel Jonel, Member <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION JULY 15, 2015 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the Executive Session on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 8:33 a.m. <br />The meeting was held in the Auditorium, South Bend Police Department, 701 W. Sample St., South <br />Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C.5- 14- 1.5 -6.I (b)(6)A). Board President John Collins <br />and Board Members Eddie Miller, Luther Taylor, and Daniel Jones were present. Also present were <br />Attorney Stephanie Steele, and Judge Roland Chamblee. Board members did not discuss any subject <br />matter other than the subject matter as specified in the Public Notice.
