REGULAR MEETING MARCH 23, 2015 Section I. On behalf of the residents of the City of South Bend, the South Bend Common Council is proud to honor all of the thousands of men, women and children who plant, cultivate, harvest and process our agricultural products throughout the State of Indiana and throughout the United States. Section II. The Common Council hereby declares the week of March 23 – 31, 2015 as Farmworkers Awareness Week in South Bend, Indiana, and calls upon everyone to reflect upon the tireless efforts of Cesar Chavez whose dedication and commitment to raise awareness has helped bring justice to those who toil in the fields on all of our behalves. th Section III. The Common Council believes that as this 16 annual Farmworkers Awareness Week is celebrated in communities across the nation, that it is another way to bring honor to all of those hard- working and dedicated Farmworkers who make our daily lives more enriched because of the fruits of their labor Section IV.
