"Official time standard. "-- Whenever certain hours are named herein they shall mean standard time or daylight saving time as may be in current use in this city. " -.LWery person who drives or is in actual physical control ofa vehicle. (c) "Pedestrian. " - -Any person afoot. Sec - 9. "Police officer. " - -"very officer of the municipal police department or any officer authorized to direct or regulate traffic or to make arrests for violations of traffic regulations. SUBDIVISION III.-- STRDMTS, ETC., DSFINFD Sec. 10. (a) "Street or highway. " - -The entire width between property lines of every way or place of ;whatever nature when any part thereof is open to the use of the public, as a matter or right, for purposes of vehicular traffic. (b) "Private road or driveway. " - -Every way or place in private ownership and used for vehicular travel by the owner and those having express or implied permission from the owner, but not by other Persons. (c) "Roadway. " - -That portion of a street improved, designed, or ordinarily used for vehicular travel. (d) "S:idewelk. "- -That portion of n. street between the curb linos, or the lateral linee; of c roadway, and the adjacent property l nes intended for the use of pedestrians. (e) "Alley.' -__ narrow passage or way in a city, which serves rear entrances to property. Sec. 11. "Intersection."--The area embraced within the prolongation or connection of the 1p..toral curb lines, or, if none, then the lateral boundary lines of the roadways of two highways which join one another at or approximately at right angles, or the area within which vehicles traveling upon different high- ways joining at any o her angle may come in conflict. Sec. 12. "Crosswalk. " - -(a) ThaFVportion of a roadway ordinarily included within the prolongation or connection of the lateral linos of sidewalks at intersections. (b) Yny portion of a roadway distinctly indivated for pedestrian crossing by l:i.nos or other markings on the surface.
