(a) "Street or highway. " - -The entire width between property lines <br />of every way or place of ;whatever nature when any part thereof is open to the <br />use of the public, as a matter or right, for purposes of vehicular traffic. <br />(b) "Private road or driveway. " - -Every way or place in private ownership <br />and used for vehicular travel by the owner and those having express or implied <br />permission from the owner, but not by other Persons. <br />(c) "Roadway. " - -That portion of a street improved, designed, or ordinarily <br />used for vehicular travel. <br />(d) "S:idewelk. "- -That portion of n. street between the curb linos, or the <br />lateral linee; of c roadway, and the adjacent property l nes intended for the <br />use of pedestrians. <br />(e) "Alley.' -__ narrow passage or way in a city, which serves rear entrances <br />to property. <br />Sec. 11. "Intersection."--The area embraced within the prolongation or <br />connection of the 1p..toral curb lines, or, if none, then the lateral boundary <br />lines of the roadways of two highways which join one another at or approximately <br />at right angles, or the area within which vehicles traveling upon different high- <br />ways joining at any o her angle may come in conflict. <br />Sec. 12. "Crosswalk. " - -(a) ThaFVportion of a roadway ordinarily included <br />within the prolongation or connection of the lateral linos of sidewalks at <br />intersections. <br />(b) Yny portion of a roadway distinctly indivated for pedestrian crossing <br />by l:i.nos or other markings on the surface. <br />
