foodstuffs are kept, prepared, sold, offered for sale, or otherwise disposed of or in any other room adjacent thereto except in a place and under such conditions as shall be prescribed and approved by the Director of Public Health. SECTION 19. That it shall be unlawful to use any machinery or utensils in and about the preparation or handling of food or beverages intended for human consumption, unless the same shall be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized daily and shall be maintained in a sanitary condition and properly covered and protected while not in use., Provided, that meat grinding units shall be kept under refrigeration except when actually being used. SECTION 20. That the power to enforce the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same is hereby Tested in the Director of Public Health and City Food Inspec- tor and their deputies and it shall be the duty of such persons to visit and inspect at frequent intervals every place where food, beverages, or confection in- tended for consumption by human beings are manufactured, kept, stored, prepared or offered for sale or other dis- position, Provided, that the Chief of Police and his duly authorized assistants shall assist the Department of Public Health in the enforcement of this ordinance when requested to do so by said Director of Public Health in writing. Provided, further, that it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police and his duly authorized assistants to check all food establishments to determine whether or not they are provided with proper licenses as required b1 this ordinance and the Chief of Police or his duly authorized assistants shall institute action to prosecute any person, firm, or corporation found to be operating without proper city license.
