ORDINANCE NO._J U.2 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 2243 CORDIONLY KNOWN AS <br />BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />SECTION 1. Be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, that Sections No. 832, 835, 836, 838, 842, 84 <br />'S' commonly known as the <br />and 849, Article XLV of Ordinance No. 2243, Y <br />Building Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be and the same <br />are hereby amended to read as follows, to -wit= <br />BOND. Sec, 832. Every person, firm or corporation4an <br />g signboard &, billboardq, sky signf <br />or banner sign within the City of South Bend shall annually file <br />with the City Controller a good and sufficient bonds running to the <br />City of South Bend, in the penal sum of $5,000.00 to indemnify, <br />save and keep harmless the City of South Bend from any and all costs <br />and /or damages, which may be suffered by the City of South Bend or <br />expense of any kind whatsoever to which it may be put or which may <br />accrue against said City boy reas on of the granting of permission to <br />erect or alter Any signboard, billboard, sky -sign or banner sign <br />or from or by reason of any acts or things done under or by authority <br />of permission granted by said City to erect any signboard, billboard, <br />sky -sign or banner sign in said City of South Bend, as well as to <br />indemnify any and all persons who may suffer injury or damages by <br />reason of the erection and constructionAof any such signboard, <br />billboard, sky -sign or banner sign. <br />HEIGHT OF TOP AND BOTTOM. Sec, 835. No signboard or billboard <br />hereafter erected on an•open lot shall be set with its top no higher <br />than 22 feet above the ground at its highest point, nor with its <br />bottomless than two and one -half feet above the ground at its <br />nearest point.
