ORDINANCE NO. 417 <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED <br />REAL ESTATE FROM THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND TO THE STATE. ARMORY <br />BOARD OF THE STATE OF INDIANA BY WAY OF A DONATION; RESERVING <br />AN EASEMENT OVER CERTAIN OF THE LAND SO DONATED; LIMITING THE <br />DONATION TO THE USE OF SAID LANDS FOR ARMORY AND MILITARY <br />PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION THEREOF UPON THE CESSATION <br />OF SUCH USES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Whereas, the State Armory Board is desirous of pro- <br />viding additional grounds about the Armory Building in the City <br />of South Bend,, Indiana and has requested the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana to make it a donation of such additional grounds, <br />and <br />Whereas, the City of South Bend has such grounds <br />available under the care and management of the Department of <br />Public Parks; and <br />Whereas, the Department of Public Parks of the <br />City of South B9ndand the Boards of Public Works and Safety <br />of said city h2ve both indicated their willingness Q- such <br />donation be made; and <br />Whereas, such donation would be to the benefit <br />of the City of South Bend and of the State of Indiana in <br />connection with the present war effort. <br />Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend that: <br />Section 1. The proper officers of the City of South <br />Bend are hereby authorized to make a donation of and to execute <br />for and on behalf of the said city a deed to the State Armory <br />Board of the State of Indiana for the following described real <br />estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of <br />Indiana, towit: <br />Beginning at a point one hundred and seventeen and <br />three- tenths feet (117.3) South measured on the <br />section line and ten feet (101) West of the South- <br />easterly corner of Lot 20 in August Beyer's First Ad- <br />dition to the City of South Bend, Indiana; thence <br />West a distance of one hundred and sixty feet (1601); <br />
