ORDINANCE N0. 4EajZ <br />r' FAS, by a certain statute passed by the Indiana General Assembly, <br />signed by the Governor, and filed under emergency provisions on _aarch 8, 1945, <br />it was provided effective as of said date that chiefs of Police Departments <br />and of Fire Departments of cities of the second class shall not be paid less <br />than ?4500.00 per annum; and <br />iHEREAS, the aforementioned statute was filed on march 8, 1945, and <br />became effective immediately, the police chief and the fire chief of the City <br />of South Send are entitled to be paid at the rate of 194500.00 from said 8th day <br />of March, 1945; and <br />"iIEUM, additional appropriations are necessary in order to provide <br />funds for the payment of such increase in accordance with the following formula, <br />that is to say, 298/365 of 1;550.00 or 55449.04 for each of sa_d officers; and <br />";HER AS, by a certain statute passed by the Indiana General Assembly, <br />signed by the Governor, and filed under emergency provisions on march 6, 1945, <br />it was provided effective as of said date that the Secretary of the Board of <br />Health o£ cities of the second class shall be Laid not less than 4 per capita <br />for each resident of said city as determined by the last preceeding United States <br />census; and <br />JHEREA9, the aforen:en'' ioned statute was filed on :.;arch 6, 1945, and <br />became effective immediately, the jecretary of the Board of Health of the City <br />of South Bend is entitled to be paid at the rate of 4 oer capita from said 6th <br />day of ;.arch, 1945; and <br />!'WHEREAS, additional appropriations are necessary in order to provide <br />funds for the payment of such increase in accordance with the following formula, <br />that is to say, 300/365 of A2,025.36 or '.;x,664.67 for said officer. <br />NO'."i, 1 LR FOi3, be it ordained by the Co;mqon Council of the Cityof <br />South Bend, that: <br />
