shall also appoint such clerical and stenographic assistance as he may deem <br />necessary. <br />shall: <br />4. Under the direction of the Mayor the Chief Service Officer <br />A. Attend all meetings of the &vvAw&6p aet as its <br />Secretary and keep the minutes of its proceedings. <br />B. Make and publish annual reports regarding the work <br />of his office, and shall make and publish such special reports <br />as shall be directed by the Mayor. <br />C. Create a system of furnishing information and other <br />assistance to Veterans and their families so that such Veterans <br />and families shall be enabled to receive and have the advantage <br />of the maximum possible benefits under all laws of the United <br />States and of the State of Indiana to which they are entitled. <br />D. Advise veterans and veterans' families concerning <br />their welfare generally and in addition to the receiving <br />of veterans' aids and benefits as set forth above. <br />5. The City of South Bend shall be divided into a number of convenient <br />districts and sub - districts, and in each there shall be appointed by the Mayor, <br />and to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, an Officer who shall be directly <br />responsible to the Chief Service Officer, and who shall, together with such <br />additional personnel as the Mayor shall determine may be necessary, advice and <br />assist in the fulfillment of the purposes of this ordinance within his District. <br />6. At the direction of the Mayor City property, office equipment <br />and other equipment shall be made available to and furnished for the accomplishment <br />of.the purposes of this ordinance. <br />7.
