placement of parking meters when necessary to carry out the purpose and <br />intent of this Ordinance and shall cause said meters to be maintained in <br />good workable condition. <br />SEction 7, The Chief of Police or such other officers or employ- <br />ees of the City of South Bend, Indiana as the Mayor of said City may desig- <br />nate is hereby authorized and he shall install or place parking meters upon <br />the curb or sidewalk2 along side of or near or immediately adjacent to the <br />individual parking spaces herein provided or to be designated hereafter as <br />provided in Section 3 of this Ordinance in such parking meter zones herein <br />created or to be hereafter created by Ordinance of the City of South Bend$ <br />Indiana, said installation to be placed not more than two (2) feet from <br />the curb nor more than four (4) feet from the front line of the parking <br />space as indicated. Each parking meter shall be set or placed as to show <br />or display a signal that the parking space along side of it is or is not <br />in use.
