<br />APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 02 -2015 - AMENDING RESOLUTION NO 56 -2014
<br />ESTABLISHING THE 2015 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR THE SOUTH BEND POLICE
<br />DEPARTMENT
<br />Chief Ronald Teachman informed the Board that at the Board's previous meeting of December 17,
<br />2014: the Board approved Resolution No. 56 -2014 Establishing the Holiday Schedule for the South
<br />Bend Police Department. Subsequently, Chief Teachman noted, an error was found in the date ofthe
<br />Thanksgiving holiday and the day after. Therefore, Chief Teachman presented the Board with a
<br />corrected schedule for their approval. Upon a motion by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Miller and
<br />carried, Resolution No. 02 -2015 wus approved correcting the Police Department 2015 holiday
<br />schedule.

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 56-2014 ESTABLISHING THE 2015
<br />HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is empowered by
<br />law to establish rules and regulations for the South Bend Police Department; and
<br />WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the City of South Bend that the Police Department
<br />holidays be set with certainty.
<br />WHEREAS, on December 17, 2014, the Board approved Resolution No. 56 -2014,
<br />Establishing the 2015 Holiday Schedule for the South Bend Police Department; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Police Department discovered an error in the dates of certain holidays;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Safety of the City of South
<br />Bend that the following corrected holiday schedule replaces the previous schedule set out in
<br />Resolution No, 56 -2014:
<br />SECTION I. That for all swom police officers who arc assigned to work as their regular
<br />schedule, 5 on and 2 off, Monday through Friday, the following holidays shall apply:
<br />New Year's Day
<br />Martin Luther King Jr. Day
<br />Memorial Day
<br />Independence Day (Observed)
<br />Labor Day
<br />Veteran's Day Wednesday,
<br />Thanksgiving Day
<br />Day after Thanksgiving
<br />Christmas Day
<br />Thursday, January 1, 2015

<br />In addition to the nine (9) designated holidays above, employees may choose one (1)
<br />additional floating holiday subject to South Bend. Municipal Code See. 2 -121 (a), which can be any
<br />day of the employee's choosing subject to supervisor's approval.
<br />SECTION II. That for all sworn police officers who are assigned to work as their regular
<br />work schedule, 6 days on and 3 days off, there shall be no paid holidays. The following dates are
<br />designated as Critical Duty Days:
