Royal Oak Annexation Area S <br />K. Hiring Plan <br />It is anticipated that this annexation will not result in the elimination of jobs for employees of any <br />other governmental entities. The Centre Township Trustee has been notified of this annexation. <br />SECTION III. MUNICIPAL SERVICES <br />A. Public Works <br />Sewer - An existing 8 -inch sanitary sewer is located on Johnson Road, and an 8 -inch sanitary <br />sewer is located on Miami Street. <br />Water - There is an existing 12 -inch water main on both Johnson Road and Miami Street. <br />South Bend's sewage collection system and water distribution system have adequate capacity for <br />the single family residential development proposed for the subdivision. <br />The Street Department will accomplish street sweeping, flushing and snow maintenance, once the <br />surface course of pavement is complete and accepted by the Board of Public Works. The <br />additional roadway mileage will increase the Motor Vehicle Highway fund sufficiently to maintain <br />and operate the roadways. Revenue to the Water Works and the Division of Environmental <br />Services will be sufficient to provide operation and maintenance of the water distribution facilities, <br />the sewage collection facilities, solid waste and yard waste pickup, as well as recycling services. <br />The City will bear the expense of electricity for a street lighting system as soon as lights are <br />installed. This could amount to as much as $300.00 / month, from the General Fund. <br />The developer has proposed a storm drainage plan that has been accepted by Saint Joseph County. <br />The storm drainage will be detained in three basins within the subdivision, overflowing into a <br />storm sewer that the County has plans to build in Gilmer Park, adjacent to the annexation area. <br />Sewer revenues will be sufficient to maintain the storm water system within the subdivision. <br />Drainage outside the subdivision will be the responsibility of Saint Joseph County through the <br />Drainage Board and the Highway Department. <br />When fully developed, this annexation area is not expected to require major capital outlays for <br />public works vehicles or equipment. <br />The developer is responsible for road construction. All internal roads will be the responsibility of <br />the developer per the standards and requirements of the subdivision ordinance and the Board of <br />Public Works. <br />There are no waivers on file for water or sewer. <br />Extensions of, or taps into sanitary sewer and water lines shall be governed by I.C. 36- 9 -22 -2, <br />I.C. 8 -1.5 -3 and 4, and the rules and regulations of the South Bend Water Wor$S'm 8rwef -- <br />Utility. <br />[led in Clerk's Office <br />MAR 0 0 2000 <br />aBE77'Ad DUDA <br />asY�Eta684.�4 <br />
