ORDINANCE NO. . 3 7%e <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3, SECTION 4 -A, <br />OF ORDINANCE NO. 3702, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL ON JUNE 13, 1949, COMMONLY KNOIT;d AS <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE, AND ADDING THERETO <br />SECTION 17 -A. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana: <br />Section 1. That Section 3, "A" Residence District <br />of Ordinance No. 3702, adopted by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, on June 13, 1949, and commonly <br />known as the Zoning Ordinance, be, and the same hereby is <br />amended to read as follows: <br />Section 3.- "A" Residence District. In the "A" <br />Residence District buildings or premises may be used, and <br />buildings may be erected or structurally altered, for the <br />following uses only: <br />(1) One family dwellings <br />(2) Churches <br />(3) Libraries <br />(4) Farming and truck gardening <br />(7) Uses customarily incident to any of the above <br />uses and not involving the conduct of a <br />business. <br />(6) Home occupation, office of physician, surgeon, <br />dentist, when located in the dwelling place <br />of such person, provided no nameplate exceedin <br />one square foot in area is used. <br />(7) Accessory buildings including one private <br />garage whether attached to the house or as <br />a separate building. <br />(8) Signs, not exceeding 8 square feet in area, <br />appertaining to the lease, or sale of a <br />building or premises. <br />(9) Uses which are uncertain in their classificati <br />under foregoing headings shall be reviewed by <br />the board of Zoning Appeals and the inter- <br />pretation of said Board shall govern. <br />Section 2. That Section 4 -A, "C -1'' Commercial District <br />of said Ordinance No. 3702, be, and the same is hereby amended to <br />
