Gibson — Affordable Care Act — City paid $185,000 this year for this which meant a <br />$63.00 hike per person. Next 2 years will drop to $44.00 2015 and $27.00 2016 per <br />person. <br />Dr. Ferlic How many claimants are chronic? Can't really track the difference between <br />chronic and acute. Normally a person has a chronic case and it only happens once a <br />year such as a heart attack, etc. Dr. Ferlic — Higher mental health care claims? Not <br />sure about the impact of Affordable Care and what those claims might be yet. <br />Derek Dieter— Is the Health and Wellness program helping at all? Difficult to measure. <br />We have done better on claims compared to other municipalities. Can we get better <br />statistics? Can we track the people who have large claims? Are they on the health & <br />wellness program? Not available and difficult to track. <br />Jo Ellen then explained we are looking into a clinic for City employees and we are <br />making the spouse join the wellness program and having them also track their points. <br />Dr Ferlic believes that the future of insurance will be monetary incentives.
