South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting November 10, 2014 <br />Bend Chemical's property, allowing South Bend Chemical's trucks access to their loading <br />and parking areas. The approach is part of their larger project that includes the repaving, <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />B. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />fencing, and overall improvement to their property, thereby allowing them to expand their <br />business and create two new jobs. <br />South Bend Chemical commits to invest $90,000 into the parking and building <br />improvements, as well as create two new jobs by December 31, 2016. Staff requests <br />approval of the Development Agreement and an amount not to exceed $10,000 to complete <br />the project. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Schey and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Development Agreement with South Bend Chemical (732 S. <br />Michigan St.) <br />C. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) Staff update <br />Mr. Fielding gave a report on the Chase Plastics Project. Chase Plastics has been <br />negotiating to build 125,000 sqt new facility at the Ameriplex complex off of I- 80/90. They <br />have committed to approximately $6,000,000 investment in a distribution center for their <br />plastic pellets /resin distribution. They will be adding between 13 and 15 new jobs. The <br />Commission will invest $150,000 of AEDA TIF funds for sewer, water, and road <br />extensions. Staff intends to prepare a Development Agreement with those terms. <br />D. West Washington- Chapin Development Area <br />There was no business in the West Washington- Chapin Development Area. <br />E. South Side Development Area <br />There was no business in the South Side Development Area. <br />F. Northeast Neighborhood Development Area <br />There was no business in the Northeast Neighborhood Development Area. <br />G. Douglas Road Development Area <br />35 <br />
